It has been quite a while since I wrote here. Here it is the end of 2011. I have a new "ride" planned, and I hope to complete it within the next couple of years.

I want to travel the old Route 66, the "Mother Road". It only exists in pieces and parts, but it is possible to follow the route from Chicago all the way to Los Angeles. It should be an interesting trip.

Since my return from the ride around the edge of the United States I have had to deal with health issues that disallowed me from taking really major jaunts on the motorcycle. After having a very successful corneal transplant surgery I feel like I can, once again, begin to plan for this new undertaking. It won't be quite as long but it should be just as exciting, to say the least.

When I left on my Perimeter Run, I had one grandchild. Mariel was joined by her brother, Sam, four years ago. Just 13 months ago, Sam and Mariel were happy to have their new cousin born. Alyssa is also one of the most adorable and cutest grandchildren ever born in human history.

With luck, I will be able to report on this blogsight as I make my way toward the west (or left) coast. We'll see.

Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Mark
