BOB PERRY AND MARK LOGSDON WERE INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT ON THE BUSINESS LOOP OF ROUTE 31 TODAY JUST OUTSIDE SILVER LAKE STATE PARK. MARK HAD BEEN SLOWING DOWN AND PULLING OFF THE ROAD TO ASSIST TWO BIKERS THAT WERE ON THE ROADSIDE. BOB CAME AROUND THE CORNER AND SEEING A TRUCK IN THE OPPOSING LANE OF TRAFFIC, DID THE SAFEST THING TO DO. APPLYING THE BRAKES AND MAINTAINING DIRECTION HE REALIZED THAT HE WAS GOING TO HIT THE TRAILER. BOB LAID THE BIKE DOWN AND SLID WITH 22' HE SUSTAINED SOME "ROAD RASH" TO HIS PERSON. THE TRAILER THAT WAS BEING PULLED SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FENDER THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTENSIVE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AND REPAINTING. THE EQUIPMENT ON BOB'S MOTORCYCLE DID EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO. BOTH THE TRAILER AND THE CRASH BARS, SIDE BAG, TRAVEL TRUNK AND OTHER EQUIPMENT ABOSORBED IMPACT ENERGY, THUS LIMITING THE INJURIES THAT BOB SUSTAINED.

NOTHING IS BROKEN EXCEPT SOME SKIN. MS. GPS. LOCATED THE NEAREST HOSPITAL AND BOTH MACHINES WERE ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THEY JUST AREN'T AS PRETTY AS THEY WERE THIS MORNING.

WE ARE NOW CONTINUING TO COMPLETE THE JOURNEY. TONIGHT WE WILL BE IN PETOSKY, WITH KAREN GONKO'S SISTER (KAREN AND CHILDREN ARE IN THE 1ST MICHIGAN FIFE AND DRUM CORPS)

END OF REPORT

Whew! Not to worry you say - well - fat chance, guys. It is said that most accidents happen close to home so take it easy. You're making it true!!!
AND you're getting closer every minute, increasing so called "odds." Please be careful - I know Bob did what had to be done and w/skill. I just gotta' say it, that's all. Love ya'

Wilson & Ms. GPS: OK, there was a little mishap today... the boys are OK, that's what's important. Metal and plastic can be repaired and replaced. I assume Wilson made it through without too many ruffled feathers, as I have not heard to the contrary (should have escaped when you had the chance, Wilson). The "Run" isn't over. So, Ms. GPS, I'm counting on you to guide their cute butts home; and, Wilson, you're assigned to covering their...... butts, bringing up the rear. Stay focused guys, take care of each other, ride safe, head home. Miss you, L, Nurse Charlotte

Bob & Mark: It's the last night on the road. Mark, it has to feel so good knowing the next time you lay your head on the pillow you'll be home. Your family must be so excited with anticipation to see you. Bob, I'm sure riding with your best pal has been a wonderful, memorable experience; almost hard to believe the week is up. There are still a lot of miles in front of you; get some good rest and stay focused. See you at the road's end. L, Charlotte (H.B.V.H.S.P.)
