MICHIGAN'S VISTAS ARE DIFFERENT BUT NO LESS BEAUTIFUL THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY

HANCOCK MICHIGAN.

THAT'S RIGHT! THE TREES ARE BEGINNING TO CHANGE IN THE KEWEENAW.....

THE LEGEND LIVES ON FROM THE CHIPPEWA ON DOWN, OF THE BIG LAKE THEY CALL GITCHEGOOMIE

DIDN'T GO THERE

I SWEAR THAT THIS IS THE FIRST 1955 BUICK FOUR WHEEL DRIVE
SNOW PLOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. THIS WAS LOCATED AT A PLACE
CALLED "YOOPER TOURIST TRAP" I LOVED THE HONESTY OF THE PLACE.

UH.... THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING......... WELL, ALMOST EVERYTHING...... WELL, PRETTY DAMN NEAR EVERYTHING.

THE YOOPER TOURIST TRAP SNOW BLOWER. WITH A 24 HORSE POWER ENGINE. IT APPARANTLY REALLY WORKED.

THIS IS FAR AS I GO IN THE KEWEENAW. IT IS THE BEGINNING OF ROUTE 41. IT HEADS SOUTH FOR 1992 MILES AND ENDS IN MIAMI FLORIDA.

      Hi Mark
I'm catching up with two days. the photo of the Michigan road quietly tucked between the trees is sooooo inviting. i was just thinking of autumn's colors setting that same scene aflame when I found your picture of the trees changing already!
Like the story of the folks at the like coffee shop was like very funny. Like it made me laugh. The contrast of the freighter dad being the quiet hero and making life work was great. The champions and the sacred in the ordinary daily days....good to notice both.
Enjoyed the Yooper "musuem" photos, although that 55 Buick snow plow pretty much competes with the logic of a poodle on a farm!
Take care....I look forward to your all your stories, impressions and reflections.
