ANDY'S HARLEY DAVIDSON IS NOT A POSH PLACE, BUT IT IS A COMPETANT PLACE. NO FRILLS HERE, BUT SOLID
SALES AND SERVICE ARE TO BE HAD WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE DOOR.

PICTURE OF A REAR TIRE THAT FAILED AT 70 MPH. NOTE THAT THE TIRE OBVIOUSLY ATE SOMETHING IT DIDN'T
LIKE VERY WELL AT ALL. THE BIKE SURVIVED THE BLOWOUT, AND I DID AS WELL.

CLOSER LOOK AT THE DESTRUCTION. YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE INTERNAL CORDS AND WIRES THAT MAKE UP THE
TIRE CARCASS. IT WAS A PRETTY BIG HIT.

PINE FORRESTS LINED ROUTE 2 FOR MOST OF THE AFTERNOON. I BEGAN TO BE REMINDED OF MICHIGAN'S
NORTH COUNTRY. THIS IS THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE NEXT PICTURE WAS TAKEN AT THE SAME TIME
FACING THE OTHER DIRECTION (SOUTH)

THIS IS THE SAME AREA AS THE HEALTHY PINES SEEN IN THE PREFVIOUS SHOT. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH DOGS
TO GO PISSING ON ALL THESE TREES TO KILL THEM. THIS SIGHT WAS REPEATED - ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE
ROAD, MIND YOU - FOR MOST OF THE AFTERNOON

THIS SHOT ALSO REMINDS ME OF MICHIGAN'S NORTH COUNTRY.

DUSK COMES TO THE MINNESOTA NORTH COUNTRY, APPROXIMATELY 33 MILES OUT OF DULUTH.

ISN'T THIS AN INVITING ABODE? THIS IS REALLY IN DISREPAIR, BUT IS STILL BEING USED. YES THE HOUSE, AND IT
IS A HOUSE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, IS STILL A PART OF SOME FAMILY'S LIFE. WOULDN'T THIS TRAUMATIZE ANY
SMALL KID? HMMMMMM..... METHOD TO THE MADNESS PERHAPS?

QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST PLACE TO HAVE BLOODY MARY'S IN ALL OF DULUTH.

I HAD THE BEST BLOODY MARY THAT I CAN REMEMBER EVER HAVING. YES THERE IS ALSO A GLASS OF BEER
SITTING THERE TOO. THAT COMES WITH THE BLOODY MARY. IT IS CALLED A "SNIT" THIS IS CUSTOMARY OUT
HERE. I THOUGHT A "SNIT" WAS WHAT WAS CAUSED IF YOU DIDN'T GET YOUR DRINK IN A TIMELY MANNER.

      Hey Mark:

Glad to see you got the tire changed and that you and the Harley are non the worse for the experience. The pictures are great and I struck by the Harley dealer that did your repair compared to the mammoth dealers around here. Guess the bottom line is it all gets down to service......I'm enjoying mapping your progress....when your progress and look forward to getting together with you upon your return.....when do you anticipate being back in wonderful, scenic, motorcycle friendly Southeast Michigan?

Hey Mark, Glad to see and hear your trip has been an eventful, funfill dream you always hope for! Really glad you were able to control the blowout. At least you always have gas in the tank! (Ha!)Unlike old bus drivers. If you happen to swing down by South Central Michigan, (Branch County) You have a BIG STEAK Dinner with your name on it.
Been enjoying your log of your trip. Great pictures. Watch out for those Youpers in the U.P. Have a safe last last leg of your trip. Hope to visit with you sometime soon.

      Your former old bus driver.

      Hey Mark!
Just thought I'd let you know I've been seeing lots of commercials lately informing about cervical cancer. The basic tag line is "Tell someone". You are a living legend as you tell many, many "someones". Mary would be so proud as are all of us back home.
Can't wait to hear all your stories when you get back.
Sorry to learn about your bike. Isn't it something how the best plans somehow take a turn ....
      Take care my friend!

      Hey Mark,
I've been holding off writing you because I know how busy you must be posting all these wonderful pictures and thoughts along the way. Still, glad to hear you survived the blowout. Geeze! Such drama... I've been following your trip on my work computer. Can't wait to see what happens next. I just wanted to say that and also that your pictures have been inspiring. I talked to Carmelle and Tina Carmango (from the corp) the other day and they said Hi. I play in a band with Tina's husband part time. Well, good luck and Keep safe. Jeff

I sent you a post about Fort George today and it bounced back, so I went to your corps website and lo&behold. I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THE WHOLE TRIP! Trying now to read the blogs starting from both ends. Have to read fast as I have no home computer access at present. Sorry you never got to my place as you passed through NY. Trust you to have unique adventures on a unique journey! Try to stay in one piece, ok? We'll miss you this weekend. Hugs from Lin

      Hi Mark:

Sorry I wasn't home last night when you called and did not have access to that nasty little cell phone. So....were you really fighting the camera timer or looking to get into the woods for a much needed "rest" stop......when you get back, we need to talk. I've been singing your praises over at Wolverine and they want me to do a Rider Profile on you and your trip for the next edition of Exhaust Notes......man, you are one popular dude Mark....I am pleased and proud to be your humble servant!
