THIS IS R.J. FROM ARIZONA. HE LIVES UP IN THE NORTHERN PART THAT ACTUALLY EXPERIENCES SNOW.

THIS IS HIS BUDDY DAN, WHO LIVES IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF ARIZONA THAT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A
SNOWFLAKE IS. WE MOTORED TOGETHER FOR THE BETTER PART OF THE DAY, UNTIL THEY HEADED EAST,
JUST AFTER CROSSING IN TO OREGON.

THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE MORE MILDER FOG BANKS THAT WE ENCOUNTERED. THE CLOUD LAYER WAS
RIGHT DOWN TO THE GROUND, COMING IN OFF OF THE WATER.

I TOOK A SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE OF THE LAST OF THE REDWOODS AS WE
GOT CLOSER TO THE OREGON STATE LINE.

SOMETIMES THE CANOPY OF TREES WAS SO THICK THAT NO SUNLIGHT MADE IT TO THE ROAD.

THESE MAGNIFICANT GIANTS ARE TRULY A NATIONAL TREASURE. I AM IMPRESSED TO SAY THE LEAST.

OK, IF YOU EVER SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS - OR RESEMBLING THIS - OR EVEN REMOTELY CONSTRUCTED LIKE
THIS. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, TURN INTO THE DRIVE WAY. CONTINUE ON YOUR JOURNEY. SEE PREVIOUS
PHOTOGRAPHS OF CRAP STORES THAT SELL CRAP. THEY ARE ALL, I MEAN THIS, THEY ARE ALL CRAPTASTIC!!
BY THE WAY, WE DIDN'T STOP.

THE LAST OF CALIFORNIA. PROBABLY LESS THAN FIVE MILES FROM THE STATE LINE. STILL SEXY!

WELCOME INDEED. ANOTHER STATE NOTCHED INTO MY BUTT...........

THE OREGON COAST CHANGES ALMOST ALONG THE POLITICAL LINE OF THE STATE. THE METAMORPHASIS IS
REMARKABLE IN THE FACT THAT THE CALIFORNIA COAST IS NOT AS "ROUGH" AS IT IS HERE.

ANOTHER OREGON COASTAL SHOT. NOTE THAT WHOEVER THROUGH THOSE BOULDERS OUT THERE FAILED TO
PUT THEM AWAY AGAIN. SOME PEOPLE'S KIDS!!!!

THIS PICTURE OF WILSON AND I WAS TAKEN BY THE FELLOW THAT I MET FROM MT. CLEMENS, MICHIGAN. THEY
NOW LIVE IN SAN CLEMENTE (FORMER RICHARD NIXON HOMETOWN) WELL, HE'S STILL RICHARD NIXON, HE'S
JUST DECEASED.

COW ELK AND CALVES. THE BULL OR BULLS COULD BE HEARD IN THE WOODS. THEY WERE
RELUCTANT TO COME OUT, THOUGH. MAYBE THEY WERE EMBARRASED......

THE CLOUDS STARTED OUT AS NORMAL CLOUDS, I AM SURE. HERE THEY LOOK LIKE THE TREE TOPS HAVE TORN
THEM TO SHREDS AND PROVIDED US WITH THESE HEAVENLY STREAMERS. I LIKE THIS SHOT, EVEN WITH THE
ORANGE TRAFFIC CONES IN THERE.

      Hi Mark
Once again, your photos are incredible. I love the cloud shot too. (I often photograph clouds, as well,...one can get lost in their beauty.) I applaud your comment about the stewardship of the earth. Here, we are driven to pour cement on anything that is green. Perhaps if we protected the little green spaces we have we would begin to see and hear their grandeur. I feel for those who have never been outside of the cities...what a loss for them.
You draw such good pictures with your writing!
Our Doug is in Peru today, backpacking up to Macchu Picchu to see the Incan city built there and only rediscovered in 1911 (and we are supposed to be the "advanced" ones!)
      Take care. Travel safely.

I am so glad that you skimmed by the craptastic landmark with the craptastic blue ox, probably dodging some craptastic kids and there even more craptastic parents, buying some ridiculously crappy craptastic crap. Great word. Love it.

I do have to say that I enjoy the pictures of all the places you have seen. Because most of them I've seen too. Because I've probably lived there. But aside of that I am elated to know that you are on this journey, and even though you may feel at times that you are alone, I know that you aren't. I've driven this lovely land of ours to and from countless times, and every time by myself. I wouldn't have it any other way. I learned so much about myself, and how craptastic those crap stores are, while I've experienced my travels alone. You are so fortunate. And my heart is there with you too. I love you, and ride safe.
